Our Story
Lindsay and Carter have been dating anywhere from 4 to 7 years, depending on who you ask…
Growing up in DFW, they lived within 40 minutes of each other, but failed to cross paths. Years later, both went to the University of Texas at Austin, and joined the advertising program. But Lindsay was busy dressing up as a cat, goat or zombie in various plays, and Carter was busy training as a collegiate mountain biker. Funny enough, those activities didn’t mix.
Lindsay moved out to Los Angeles after graduation for an internship at an ad agency called RPA. And as fate would have it, seven months later, Carter got a job at the same ad agency. Finally, at a company holiday party, the two met. Carter remembers them two-stepping. Lindsay remembers Carter giving her a noogie.
On New Year’s Eve 2020, they attempted to plan a group camping trip, but the trip ended up being just the two of them. It was on this camping trip that Lindsay discovered that Carter knew more lyrics to Les Misérables than she did. And Carter learned Lindsay was willing to pee in the woods.
From there, they were off and running… hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing, canyoneering and overlanding.
Many of these trips were just as “friends,” until they realized (much later than everyone else around them) that they were, in fact, dating.
They’ve since grown in their relationship, Carter taking on the missing father figure in Lindsay’s cats’ lives. And Lindsay attempting to quell Carter’s Amazon addiction.
While dangling off the side of a waterfall in October 2024, Carter popped the question, and Lindsay gladly took the oversized novelty ring onto her gloved finger. When safely back with two feet on the ground, he gave her the real ring (which was much better than the noogie.)
They are both so excited to invite you out to Mammoth Lakes to usher in this next chapter of their lives. The Sierra Mountains (and the hours spent in the car to and from) are where Lindsay and Carter truly got to know each other and discovered a shared passion for the outdoors.
They hope you enjoy your time in their neck of the woods.
